Covid-19 continues to create a unique marketing environment for businesses. Social media has boomed during this time, and because people’s living, work, and school situations have changed, social platforms remain one of the most crucial tools in the marketing toolbox.

From livestreams and customer reviews to relevant content and new shopping methods, here are 4 ways to adapt your social media for Covid-19.

Utilize Live Videos

Facebook Live and Instagram videos continue to engage and inspire users. Regardless of your industry, now is a great time to come up with creative strategies for utilizing live videos. It could be as simple as using Facebook Live to show your employees hard at work or a complex series of videos showing a product being made from start to finish.

Tips and tricks never go out of style, and free classes are always a hit with customers who follow your industry or special niche. Short on time? Update your Instagram Story with a quick video of new or popular products. When it comes down to it, we are living in a time where people feel isolated, and live videos allow for a human connection.

Get Real Customers to Review Your Products

Sharing a testimonial here and there on your social media platforms is okay, but reviews given by your actual customers will have a much bigger impact. Ask repeat customers to post on your Facebook page and share an image of themselves holding one of your products accompanied by a short review. It never hurts to offer a small incentive for reviews such as a discount or free shipping.

Does your company mainly cater to other businesses? No problem, you can still ask them to post a personal review. For example, if you provide food or beverage services to local businesses, ask them to take a group photo enjoying a product in the breakroom.

Continue to Update Your Content

Social media content is everything from your About blurb to the words you type in your daily posts. Have your hours changed again? Are you doing take out and delivery? Is your brick and mortar store open or closed? Customers are relying on you to provide accurate information.

Don’t be afraid to deviate from your editorial calendar. If you planned out your posts a month ago, double check your content. Is there anything in there talking about events that are no longer happening? Do you have travel related posts that aren’t possible at the moment? Are you still talking about lipstick when everyone is wearing a mask? Take a few minutes to review images and planned posts, and it never hurts to take a quick look over website content while you’re at it.

Boost Sales With Ecommerce

If you can sell your products or services online, do it. Social media platforms have excellent tools for this purpose. Whether you set up a shop on Facebook or post eyecatching images on Instagram with one-click shopping, there is no reason to miss out on this opportunity.

Many businesses are utilizing Facebook Live and selling products during their live shows. Not a fan of video? Social media is the perfect place to promote sales and new products.
