You Can’t Afford to Pretend Social Media Marketing Isn’t Pertinent to Your Company

One of the first marketing items established companies drag their feet on is social media. They didn’t need it in the past, so why now? Or maybe they think that their stellar reputation and word of mouth referrals are going to help them grow. While nothing is more powerful than a direct referral, growth isn’t likely based on that business model. People are frequenting social media. It’s in your best interest to meet them there.

Stay in Front of Your People

Social media engagement keeps your brand in front of your audience. It allows your name to frequent their mind in the event that they need (or want) your services or product. Here’s the thing: if you’re not filling that space in their subconscious when they want a pizza or need to make a dentist appointment or have a flat tire…someone else is. When you have followers that are regularly seeing your logo and name scroll by on their screen, you’re in.

Don’t Turn the Key Just to Walk Away

We often see companies build a Facebook page (“build” is pretty generous; it’s a simple few keystrokes and you’re live on almost any social media platform) and then walk away from it. You can’t do that with your website and your Facebook page is an extension of that. You have to update it, maintain it, and take it for a drive now and then for optimal performance.

If your social media stream is dead, it makes your business look lackluster. It makes your brand lack relevance and builds a wall for prospective clients, current clients, and prospective employees to climb in order to find your company and information about it.

Beyond Daily Doesn’t Mean Dead

Don’t make them work that hard. The tough truth is that they won’t. They’ll find someone who will give them information quickly, seamlessly, and on the platform they’re frequenting. You have to keep your audience warm with updates.

We’re not talking twice-a-days here. Not even daily. Once a week is usually enough to keep a steady digital pulse. Your social media presence can be healthy and thriving without dumping hours into curating Facebook posts.

You’re busy; we get that. That’s why we’ve got a team of experts over at Blindspot-Advisors ready to implement a social media marketing strategy that will get your pulse away from catatonic and well into thriving.
